Firms line-up to help Wisbech sparkle this Christmas
This year’s Wisbech Christmas lights switch-on is approaching and it has received great backing from local businesses.
All the money pledged will be used to make the event bigger and better than ever.
The event, which runs from 3pm-6pm on Sunday, December 1, will include a snow park and aerial acrobats. There will be live festive entertainment from Nine Lives Theatre Company, with support from other organisations.
Visitors will have a chance to see Father Christmas, who will be handing out sweets to children, while there will be free mince pies, donated by local supermarkets, for adults to enjoy.
Businesses that have sponsored the event will enjoy a number of benefits, including a personal letter of thanks or a visit from the mayor or deputy mayor.
A council spokesperson said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has offered sponsorship, it means that we can make the event better than ever and, in turn, this helps local businesses to promote themselves to thousands of people who are expected to attend. We always strive to do something different to make it fresh for those families who come along.”
These are the sponsors of the Christmas Light Switch-on Event:

Cllr Sam Hoy who chairs the council’s events and festivals committee paid tribute to the sponsors and said: “Come to the Market Place on Sunday, December 1 to watch the town sparkle and enjoy music, dancing, and entertainment.”
