Move to make new Turkish restaurant in March ‘legal’
Councillors welcomed a retrospective planning application for a Turkish restaurant that is already up and running.
The application by brothers Faruk and Salih Faruk to convert the former NatWest Bank in March Broad into a restaurant was discussed by March Town Council at their meeting last night.
Councillors all agreed it was “about time” the application was made to formalise the restaurant known as F&S Majestic as it opened its doors to customers in the middle of last month.
There were some concerns about some of the proposals including changes to the possible length of windows, but Cllr Jan French pointed out the building is in a conservation area therefore the district council’s conservation officer would say what was and what was not acceptable.
Councillors welcomed the fact the building was being used and Cllr Jennifer Lawler added: “I don’t think people will mind and will be generally happy with the plan.”
