March Town sign Toby Allen from Wisbech Town and centre back Harvey Henderson also comes in
March Town have moved today to strengthen their squad with the signing of two players.
Striker and fans’ favourite Toby Allen returns to the United Counties Premier South promotion hopefuls after a spell at Wisbech Town and central defender Harvey Henderson signs on dual registration with Grantham Town.
The signings are just the boost The Hares need after picking up just a point against top-three rivals St Neots Town (1-1 away) and Rugby Borough (0-1 home) in their last two games.
And it doesn’t get any easier for The Hares who tomorrow travel to play fifth-place Northampton ON Chenecks.
It was announced this morning that Allen had left The Fenmen. On his signing, manager Ash Taylor said: “I’m delighted that Toby has agreed to join the football club. He’s a player I’ve admired since he was young and he’s the type of player this team needs. At 24 he’s a perfect age with his best years ahead of him which I hope will be in a March Town shirt.
“I also know that when he was at the club before he was a fans’ favourite and I know this signing will put a lot of smiles on faces. I look forward to watching him scoring goals and enjoying his football.”
Allen has already been sponsored by the club’s main sponsor Suction Excavation UK for the remainder of this season
On getting Henderson’s signature, Taylor added: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Harvey Henderson. I am a big fan of the player, and (assistant manager Simon Roberts) Robbo has worked with Hendo for many years.”
The talented centre-back spent the early part of the season on trial with Peterborough Sports and joined Grantham Town in September.
